Mona Collins Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc - Centre Hall on Feb. 24, 2026.
Ramone Collins, of State College, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Marta in Florida on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Born on February 12, 1937, in Belleville, PA, to the late Chester Campbell Stewart and Anna Margaret Jane (Young) Stewart. Her formal name was Mary Quillas Ramone, but she was affectionately known as Mone or Mona, Mom (kids), Grammy (grandkids), and Gigi (great grandkids). On May 28, 1955, in Lewistown, she married the love of her life, Thomas W. Collins, who preceded her in death March 26, 2021.

Mone graduated from Belleville High School in 1955. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her home and kitchen were always welcoming, and she graciously fed many family and friends, especially those who came by after school. She was an avid Penn State fan.

She is survived by her son, Thomas J. Collins (Diane) of State College and her daughter, Marta J. Borsh (Ron) of Dunedin, FL; six grandchildren, Graham (Veronica), Thomas (Michelle), Kyle (Chelsea), Tamara (Adam), Elizabeth (Jess), and Phillip; and eight great grandchildren, Madeleine, Olive, Ruby, Clementine, Piper, Wells, Ignatius, and Maggie. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Campbell "Bud" Stewart (Carol) of State College and sister G. Victoria "Vic" Stewart of Bellefonte. She was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Ann Wagner.

There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

The family would like to thank 365 Hospice in State College and Suncoast Hospice in Dunedin for the kindness they have shown, and the great care given to Mone.
