Sierra A Borger

Sierra A. Borger, 36, formerly of Moshannon, passed away unexpectedly at her home in Lewistown on Sunday, February 22, 2026. Born on March 12, 1989, in State College, she was the beloved daughter of Laurie B. (Johnsonbaugh) Medeiros of Moshannon and the late Steven H. Borger.

Sierra was a 2007 graduate of Bridgeway Academy and also completed the Graphic Arts program at Centre County Vo-Tech in 2007. She was of the Christian faith and found comfort and strength in her daily Bible reading and in her personal relationship with her Lord.

Sierra had a vibrant personality and a warm, sociable spirit. She loved all types of music, especially pop-rock, and she truly enjoyed spending time talking with others, particularly her caregivers, who meant so much to her. She also found joy in horseback riding and treasured her time with animals. While she loved all animals, her "puppies" held a special place in her heart. She deeply missed her beloved dog, Kita, and later found comfort and companionship in Diva.

Sierra is survived by her loving mother, Laurie, and her husband, John Medeiros, of Moshannon; her brother, Hoyt A. Borger and his wife, Allyson, of Warriors Mark; her cherished niece, Lillyan Borger of Warriors Mark; and her maternal grandmother, Patricia Johnsonbaugh of State College. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

In addition to her father, Steven, Sierra was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Alfred "Sonny" and Janet Borger, and her maternal grandfather, Larry Johnsonbaugh.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday, February 26, 2026, from 7 to 8 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m. with Pastor Catherine Dittman officiating at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Snow Shoe. Burial will be private at Askey Cemetery, Snow Shoe Township.

Sierra's family would like to extend a very special and heartfelt thank you to her caregivers who assisted with her care over many years. You were far more than caregivers; you became family and dear friends. Thank you for the love, compassion, and kindness you showed Sierra throughout her life.
