Mona Louise Harrison

Mona was born May 25th, 1948 and passed away on Saturday, March 2nd 2024. She was married to Edwin Bennett who passed on February 2nd, 2006. She was the daughter of Lloyd Harrison and Elna Westall. Mona was the grand-daughter of Ronda and Nola Westall. She had one sister, Donna Chrisawn who has also passed away.
Mona is survived by her daughters: Jennifer Hanlon and husband Tim, Jane Bennett, and Jolene Bennett and her partner, Morris. She has two brothers: Danny Harrison of Jonas Ridge and Ted Harrison. Two sisters: Doris Padgett, husband Kurt Padgett of Morganton and Kathy Weaver of Asheville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Mona worked at Mohasco, Roses, and Glen Raven for many years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 6th at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Rev. David Garland and Rev. Roger Hilemon will officiate. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 pm at the funeral home. Graveside service will be at 11 am on Thursday, March 7th in the Westall cemetery. The family would like to say thank you to Compassionate Care WNC and a special thank you to Kim Ogle for the wonderful care given to Mona.
