October 13, 1947 – October 2, 2025 Monica Ashley, a beloved sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2025. Born in Detroit, Michigan on October 13, 1947, Monica lived a life defined by faith, generosity, kindness, creativity, and a deep love for her family. Monica was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dennis Ashley, as well as her parents, James and Helena Gilmore. She was also predeceased by her siblings Maureen McCarthy, James Gilmore, Helena Delaney, Mary Eatmon, and Shirley Gilmore. She is survived by her loving siblings Joan Gajeski, Gene Gilmore, and Muriel Mulcahy. Monica also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Monica worked for many years at Detroit Edison, where she was known for her dedication and warmth. Outside of her professional life, she was a talented woodworker and a passionate seamstress. Whether crafting furniture or sewing, Monica found joy in creating. Monica was also an avid dog lover and found great comfort in her many faithful pets. Known for her generosity, infectious laugh, and kind spirit, Monica was a devoted sister and aunt who always put family first. Her presence brought comfort, her humor lifted spirits, and her unwavering love left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, with Visitation at 10 am and Mass at 11 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 95 Market Street, Mt. Clemens, Michigan
