Mrs. Monica McDuffie Atkins, 53, of Raleigh, North Carolina and formerly of Rocky Mount, North Carolina transitioned on March 27, 2023.
Monica McDuffie Atkins was born September 28, 1969, in Philadelphia, PA to Kathleen McDuffie and Harold Ancrum.
Monica migrated to Rocky Mount, NC at the age of 9 years old and attended Rocky Mount Senior High School ('87) where she was a beloved classmate. Monica met the love of her life, husband Jermaine Atkins and together for almost 40 years they raised two sons. True soulmates, their love is everlasting and will surely continue in the afterlife.
Monica was a Stocking Supervisor at Amerisource-Bergen for almost 27 years. A dedicated employee, she poured her heart and soul into her work. Monica was loved by her co-workers and considered them a part of her family and an integral part of her life.
Monica was an outgoing person who loved to have a good time. Some of her favorite things to do were going out to eat, shopping, and spending time with her loved ones. If you knew Monica, you knew her love of shoes. They were a true passion for her!
Monica was preceded in death by her father Harold Ancrum.
Monica is survived by her husband: Jermaine Markeith Atkins. Sons: Jarelle McDuffie (Jamiellah) and Talib McDuffie. Mother: Kathleen McDuffie. Grand-Daughter: Jayla McDuffie. Mother-in-Law: Brenda Atkins. Brother-In-Law: Delaney Atkins. Sister: Latanya Mabry (Michael). Nephew: Tashawn Mabry. Great-Niece: Maliyah Mabry. Siblings: Anthony Rosalind, John Ancrum, Synola Hampton, and Ruthie Breland. Special Uncle: Elbert Davis. Uncles: Bobby Davis and Charles Davis. Aunts: Gail Davis and Brenda Steen and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Visitation will be held for Mrs. Atkins on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Chapel of H.D. Pope Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Ebenezer Baptist Church located at 702 W. Raleigh Blvd. in Rocky Mount, North Carolina beginning at 12:00 noon. The Interment will take place immediately after the service at the Gardens of Gethsemane.

I am so sorry for your loss.My Condolences to the Family of Monica Atkins. My Prayers are with the Family at this Difficult time. Monica was a wonderful person with a great personality. We use to work together at Amerisourcebergen I always thought she was a nice person. My Heart Goes out to the family. God will give you strength.
