Monica Janice' "Jan" Kelley-Woodruff

Monica Janicé "Jan" Kelley -Woodruff passed away peacefully on December 8, 2025, surrounded by family.

Jan was born in Griffin on August 9, 1959, and the world hasn't been the same - or quiet - since. She worked as a hairdresser for several years before starting at the Spalding County Courthouse, where she worked for close to two decades before transferring to the courthouse in Savannah. She "retired" a couple of times but nothing stuck because as we know she was never one to sit still for long.

Jan was stubborn, loud, and quick to let you know if you ticked her off. She loved the beach, a good cocktail, golfing any chance she got, Moose Lodge 1503 (where she was a proud member since 8/10/1982 and served as the FIRST female administrator!), Jimmy Buffett, and just all-around enjoying life. You knew you'd have fun with Jan because Jan WAS the fun!

But more than anything, she adored her family and friends, most of whom she considered family. She was everyone's biggest cheerleader and was someone you could always count on.

She leaves behind her husband, Marshall Woodruff; daughter, Jennifer (William Holliday) Hammond; grandchildren, Henry Hammond, Mason and Tyler Holliday; niece, Shereé Prewitt; nephew, Clint (Candis) Prewitt; and countless extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Kelley; parents, Ruth Cranford and Fred Washington; and her sister, Gloria Jones.

Services to celebrate the life of Monica Janice' "Jan" Kelley-Woodruff will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Westwood Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Thursday December 11, 2025 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home.

Her family would like to thank her dear friend, Loretta Odom, for selflessly helping care for Jan during her final months.

We will miss Jan tremendously, but we will carry her with us - in our hearts, in our stories, out on the golf course, and into the bars!
