Monica Rush, 60 of Aledo, died Friday, December 12, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, with her family at her side. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 19th at 5:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to services, beginning at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rush Family. Private family burial will be in Aledo Cemetery.
Monica was born on October 24, 1965, to Allen L. “Whitey” & Mary Patricia (Toellen) Rush in Aledo, Illinois. She was a 1984 graduate of Aledo High School and graduated from Black Hawk and Carl Sandberg Colleges.
Monica was currently working for both H.C. Duke & Son and Jewel Osco of East Moline. In her spare time she enjoyed cross stitching, scrapbooking, flower gardening, working on stained glass, motorcycle riding and caring for her animals. In Monica’s youth she enjoyed going on trips with her family where she enjoyed boating, camping and swimming. Monica loved riding horses and life guarding after graduating high school. She was a lifetime member of the Mercer County VFW Auxiliary. Monica and her parents enjoyed spur of the moment road trips.
Monica is survived by her son, Dustin Rush and companion, Kayla DeFrieze; grandchildren: Rhylee, Lillyanne, Kinsley and Cayden Rush; parents, Whitey & Mary Pat Rush; brother, Chris Rush and companion Lorri Cordua; niece, Alanna Rush; nephew, Tyson & Elyse Rush and their daughter, Bowie Rush; special friend, John Welty and family; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
