Decatur
Funeral for Monica Lynn Loggins Schmidt, 55, of Decatur will be Friday, January 28, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Manly officiating. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.
Ms. Schmidt, who died Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at River City Care & Rehabilitation, was born November 21, 1955, in Decatur to Julian Loggins and Helen Ryan Loggins. She was a former board member of Boys Club of America.
She is survived by one son, Brandon Schmidt of Decatur; one daughter, Ashley Schmidt of Decatur; her mother, Helen Loggins of Decatur; one brother, Randy Loggins of Decatur; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Brad Keenum, Chris Dutton, Stanley Bryant, Steve Bryant, Greg Bryant, Matthew Ryan, Johnathan Ryan and Brian Gibson.

Dear Loggins Schmidt Family,
I am so sorry for your loss. Monica and I went to Calhoun Jr College together and was in Chorale with Dr. Frances Moss directing. We had fun doing concerts and preparing for them. We called her 88 teeth because when she smiled her mouth looked like a piano keyboard. She was always fun to be around and was very happy.
All thru the years we would run into one another and I saw her getting married, having children, and after divorcing Larry living on her own.
The Monica I knew was a delightful energetic person who enjoyed life.
My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
