Monika Smith Obituary
Monika received her primary and secondary education in the Des Moines public schools, graduating from Lincoln High School. After graduation, Monika attended beauty school and was a hair stylist for 5 years. She then went to work in the insurance industry as an Underwriter. While working in the insurance industry she met Curt (deceased May 5, 2024) and they later married. Monika and Curt enjoyed traveling together, retiring in Prescott, AZ, where they met several new friends.
Monika also enjoyed collecting Isabel Bloom figurines, raising a garden. Her garden produced lots of fresh produce for her and Curt.
Monika is survived by her brother J.R. (Mikaela) who lives in Des Moines.
Monika overcame the health challenges that surrounded her with her own special grace and charm. She will be missed.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
