Monique Johnson

Monique Jenee Johnson (AKA Riyyah Hawkins) passed away on Tuesday, August 9th, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 5, 1983. She is the first grandchild born into the Johnson family. She is the daughter of Denise Johnson, granddaughter of Ruthie Robinson, and favorite niece-daughter of Renee Banks.
She relocated to Austin, Texas with her four children who she loved, cherished, and lived for. Their names are Shemonah(19), Sarah (17), Otzaryah (14), and Nathaniyl (12). Although they may have struggled as a family, she did all she could and gave everything for her children. She was truly a devoted mother.
Monique created amazing artwork and had a passion for writing. In fact, she has written a chapter in a published book titled, "From One Mother to Another: Uplifting Love Letters From Our Hearts to Yours". Monique was an artist and loved to draw and paint. She has some of her original artwork throughout her home and on her Instagram social media. Monique was also a great cook. She cooked like an 'old soul', old school, back in the day like grandmamma used to cook! Her food was amazing and delicious and left those who ate it full and satisfied.
There will be two Memorial Services for Monique. The first one in Texas on August 27th, 2022 held at: Texas Baptist Children Home Chappel, 1101 North Mays Street, Round Rock, Texas 78664. Visitation: 11:00-12:00 and Memorial Service: 12:00-1:00. The second one in Chicago will be September 3rd, 2022 at Hilton Chicago - Oak Lawn, 9333 South Cicero Ave., Oak Lawn, Illinois 60453. Services beginning at 10:00 am.
She was a devoted and cherished mother, grand-daughter, niece, cousin, and dear friend to many.
