Monroe Junior Martin, of Scottsburg, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 12th, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born on August 6th, 1950, in Halifax County to Ralph Monroe Martin and Louise Martin.

Monroe's life was marked by a profound love for farming, a passion ignited when he started plowing with a mule at the tender age of 7. As a loving father and grandfather, Monroe's family was the center of his life; his legacy lives on through them.

He is survived by a daughter, April Martin Wagner (Nathan); son, Monroe Junior Martin, II (Amber Wheeler); grandchildren, Kristen Michelle Wagner, Taylor Renee Wagner, Justin William Nathaniel Wagner, Megan Nicole Martin, Ethan Monroe Martin and Logan Elizabeth Martin; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Moorefield, Lois M. Ogle, Joyce Newcomb, Daniel David Martin, Wayne Martin, Vicky Lacks, & Sheila Lloyd ; numerous nieces & nephews and special friends, Charles Duffey and Junior Heath.
