Monroe Junior Martin, of Scottsburg, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, February 12th, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born on August 6th, 1950, in Halifax County to Ralph Monroe Martin and Louise Martin.
Monroe's life was marked by a profound love for farming, a passion ignited when he started plowing with a mule at the tender age of 7. He spent his days tending to the land, cultivating not only crops but a legacy of hard work and dedication. His love for the outdoors extended beyond farming as he found joy in hunting and cherished every moment immersed in nature's beauty.
A true friend to many, Monroe's heart was as vast and welcoming as the fields he tended. His kindness and steadfast loyalty endeared him to friends and family alike, making him a cornerstone in the community. As a loving father and grandfather, Monroe's family was the center of his life; his legacy lives on through them.
He is survived by a daughter, April Martin Wagner (Nathan); son, Monroe Junior Martin, II (Amber Wheeler); grandchildren, Kristen Michelle Wagner, Taylor Renee Wagner, Justin William Nathaniel Wagner, Megan Nicole Martin, Ethan Monroe Martin and Logan Elizabeth Martin; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Moorefield, Lois M. Ogle, Joyce Newcomb, Daniel David Martin, Wayne Martin, Vicky Lacks, & Sheila Lloyd ; numerous nieces & nephews and special friends, Charles Duffey and Junior Heath.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Brenda Hughes, Mavis Martin and Judy Newcomb.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Clover Church of God of Prophecy.
