Ordination to the Priesthood: 06/08/1958
The seventh born of eight children, Monsignor Page was born in Woodford, County Galway, Ireland to Thomas and Mary Page. Growing up on a farm, he knew at the ripe old age of 8 that he would dedicate his life in service to the Catholic Church. He said, "I knew then that I had a strong belief in the Catholic faith. I knew I wanted to share that faith. I never had any doubts. To that end, he attended Derryoober National School in Woodford, County Galway, Ireland; Mungret College in Limerick, Ireland; St. Kieran's College in Kilkenny, Ireland; and the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC. He was ordained to the Priesthood on June 8, 1958, for the Diocese of St. Augustine.
As a priest of the Diocese of St. Augustine, Monsignor Page served at St. John Catholic Church and Bishop Barry High School, 1958-1969; Christ the King Catholic Church and Bishop Kenny High School, 1959-1961; Father Lopez High School, 1962-1963; Administrator of Epiphany Catholic Church in Port Orange, 1962-1966; Administrator then and Pastor of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church, 1966-1972. After the Diocese of Orlando was created in 1968, he served as Rector of St. James Cathedral in Orlando, 1972-1987 and then Pastor of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Indialantic, 1987-2010. Monsignor Page retired in 2010.
Monsignor Page also served on the Presbyteral Council, Priests' Personnel Board, as a Consultor for the Diocese of Orlando, Dean of the Central South Deanery, as a chaplain for the Apostleship of the Sea, and executive editor of The Florida Catholic newspaper from September 1966 – June 1990.
He received the papal honor of Chaplain to His Holiness with the title of Monsignor in 2008. On his 90th birthday, Monsignor Page expressed his overwhelming gratitude to clergy, religious and laity who came to celebrate this humble and decisive priest, a wondrous gift of God.
