Monte Rauschenberg Obituary

Monte Dale Rauschenberg, 70 years old, of Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree was taken into the arms of Jesus on Oct. 3, 2024.
Monte was born May 4, 1954, to A.D. "Don" and Johnnie Doris Rauschenberg in Corona. Monte, a 64 year resident of Yucca Valley, graduated YVHS in 1972.
A man of many talents, he started his working career with yard maintenance, box boy, brick mason, concrete laborer and trench worker. In 1974 Monte became a general contractor and draftsman and went on to build over 800 homes and several commercial buildings in the Hi-Desert.
In 1975, Monte met Robbin Landers at Dairy Queen in Yucca Valley and they shared just shy of 49 years of marriage. Together they raised three fabulous children: Clint, a local roofer "Rauschenberg Roofing," Neil, a local contractor "Rauschenberg Construction," and Autumn, a teacher. Together they enjoyed seven grandchildren and two great-granddaughters.
Through the years he spent his time listening to music, golfing, playing co-ed softball, bowling, fishing, reading, traveling, landscaping, swimming, quad riding, bike riding, boating, hiking, exploring Indian artifacts, attending the movies, collecting rocks, spending time with family, friends and enjoyed workouts at the GYM!
Monte made a lasting impact on a vast amount of people and a quote he loved and lived by was "You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything."
Monte will be forever in our hearts, missed, loved and is survived by wife Robbin Landers Rauschenberg, son Clint Rauschenberg, daughter-in-law Mijanou Rauschenberg, son Neil Rauschenberg, daughter-in-law Holly Rauschenberg, daughter Autumn Bojorquez, son-in-law Ryan Bojorquez, Danish Exchange daughter Nanna Hansen and family, grandchildren Markie Rauschenberg Salazar, Taylor Rauschenberg Ducey, Cameren Rauschenberg, Walker Rauschenberg, Noah Bojorquez, Ella Rauschenberg and Montana Bojorquez, grandsons-in-law Marco Salazar and Cain Ducey and great-granddaughters Brinley Ducey and Maren Salazar.
He is also survived by sisters Gail Wise and Janet Wilkenson, brothers-in-law Ralph Wise, Marlin Landers and Gary Atwood, sister-in-law Robin K. Holloway Landers and many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and his adorable dog, Chelsie.

I have known the family for many years as the family was our neighbor. I had the pleasure of even babysitting their fantastic kids as a young adult. They also built a beautiful custom home for my family in Joshua Tree years ago. Blessings and Prayers to all the Rauschenberg family.

Sending prayers up above for the Rauschenberg Family and close friends. It´s very clear Monte accomplished so much in his short life but out of all of those amazing accomplishments, his Family was by far the biggest, most amazing thing he did. Reading all of their comments and stories...absolutely beautiful. Godspeed, Mr. Rauschenberg.

I remember Mont and I sitting on these concrete steps after Noah´s graduation this year. Reminiscing about life and family, always smiling and having good words to share. We were both tired and had to rest together on the steps. Peaceful memories will always be remembered. Love Evonne Varden

What a great loss! Monte I always had great respect for you and your work ethics. Your beautiful wife and sons, which I had the pleasure to work with were always such a delight! They held that Rauschenberg Family name to the highest standard. I was honored to be a part of. You will be missed so terribly my friend, it is never easy to say goodbye. Rest in peace Monte! What a loss of a true legend. Bless your beautiful family and may your love keep them strong. See you on the other side my friend Sue Ginter.

Pop was an amazing person like no other in this world. It´s hard to find those one of a kind people that will be a part of you forever. I can remember from a young age him always being playful around me making some of the best remarks and sayings that I will always hold close. I remember this one time him and I were outside washing his car a song came on that I will never forget Pancho & Lefty. I didn´t understand it at first until Pop went into great detail and explained it to me. He was the kind of man that was a history buff we fit so great together talking and pondering things from the past weather it be decades or multiple centuries we could go on for hours it seemed never once finding a boring moment. I was thankful enough to learn many life lessons from my dear Pop. He was always there to push me one more rep at the gym, ask how my day was going for no reason other than just being genuinely interested, and helping me strive to become a better person each day I spent with him! I will never forget the times I have spent with you Pop you will always be with me!
Love, Noah

Pop was and will always be one of my favorite people in my life. He always gave me good advice, built my work ethic, and taught me a valuable lesson in everything. As his youngest granddaughter, I loved spending time with him, swimming, watching movies, hiking, playing YAHTZEE, and eating desserts. A favorite memory of me and him is going to the ghost train late at night, Pop scaring me, and then driving home VERY fast. I always loved when he came to the horses and watched me ride, it made me want to show him all I could do to make him proud. I love you so much Pop!

Love,
Montana

My Poppy described himself as having tenacity - I may have called him stubborn. And boy, was he.
But that stubbornness (sorry Pop, tenacity) taught me so much in my too little time with him. To always do things the right way, even if it was also the hardest way.
I will forever remember the way he pronounced the days of the week "Toosdey", our many horror movie watches, or how he was always the first one to wish me happy birthday.
I could not have asked for a better Poppy. Thank you for all that you did for me, always.
