Monty Beers Obituary
Monty was born on August 11, 1960, in Marion, to Lonnie and Carolyn (Beasley) Beers. He was a 1978 graduate of Johnston City High School. After graduating, Monty worked as a Butcher at West Frankfort Packing House for several years, before sustaining injuries in a automobile accident that would forever change the course of his life.
Despite the challenges he faced, Monty continued to find joy in the things he loved most. He enjoyed horseback riding and had a deep affection for animals, which brought him comfort and purpose throughout his life.
Monty is survived by his two sons, Scott Beers of Johnston City and Steven Beers of West Frankfort; grandchildren, Camron, Carter, Ryker, and Mikala; siblings, Tammy (Lowell) Hankins, Yancy (Linda) Beers, and Marty Beers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother.
A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2025, at Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City with Pastor Brad Dexter officiating. A private inurnment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
