Moon Chung Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ferrara Colonial Mortuary - Orange on Feb. 2, 2026.
Moon Chul Chung, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on October 25, 1943, in South Korea, Moon Chul's life was a testament to the power of love, hard work, and dedication to family.

Moon Chul grew up and received his education in South Korea, where he also met the love of his life, Jeemin Kim. Their romance blossomed into a beautiful marriage that was blessed with three daughters: Erica, Hannah, and Helen. In 1989, seeking a brighter future for his family, Moon Chul made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States. It was a move that would set the stage for a life of opportunities and cherished memories.

Together with his family, Moon Chul worked tirelessly in a market they established, fostering not only a business but a sense of community and togetherness. He later transitioned to working in the Korean Market, where his ethic and commitment never wavered. His dedication to his work was only surpassed by his devotion to his family.

Moon Chul was a man whose heart was truly at home. He was a proud father and an even prouder grandfather, cherishing every moment spent with his eight grandchildren: Calvin, Troy, Halcyon, Chayce, Erin, Joselyn, Evelyn, and Ethan. One of his greatest joys was traveling across the United States with his grandchildren, sharing with them the beauty and diversity of all 50 states and Canada. These cherished journeys were moments of bonding and adventure that his grandchildren will remember forever.

Family was Moon Chul's passion, and being surrounded by his loved ones brought him immeasurable joy and love. He relished the simple pleasures of life, such as long walks with his dogs and the tranquility of fixing things in his garage or tending to his backyard. Moon Chul's faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found great comfort and strength in his love for the Lord.

Described by those who knew him as loving, kind, and handy, Moon Chul was a man of few words but deep feelings. He had a quiet demeanor that belied a strong and caring presence, one that provided a foundation of support and love for his family.

Moon Chul's legacy is continued through his cherished wife, Jeemin Chung; his daughters, Erica and her husband John Lee, Hannah and her husband Chris Lee, Helen and her husband John Goldsmith; his eight adored grandchildren; and his brother, Yun Chul Chung. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit and will continue to honor his memory through the values he instilled in them.

Moon Chul Chung's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and dedication. He will be deeply missed, but the impact of his life will continue to be felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose and love, and he leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations to come.
