With grateful hearts and cherished memories, we celebrate the beautiful life of Moraima Herrera Sancho-Davila, who passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 79.

Moraima was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Simón Raul Romero Saldarriaga and Tula Fidela Sancho-Davila Andrade, whose love and values shaped the remarkable woman she became.

She leaves behind her devoted sons, Ton Martin Romero Herrera and Roy Martin Romero Herrera, who were the pride and joy of her life. Ton, married to Charlette Romero, blessed her with two treasured grandchildren, Isabella Veronica Romero and Nicholas Markus Romero. Roy brought her immense happiness with his daughter, Mackenzie Williams. Sonia's grandchildren were her greatest delight, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

A woman of creativity and heart, Moraima found joy in making life more beautiful. She lovingly crafted party favors that brightened countless celebrations and crocheted baby clothes and garments with patient, caring hands. Every stitch and every detail reflected her warmth and devotion to family and community.

Moraima expressed her love most vividly through her cooking. She was especially proud of her Peruvian heritage and delighted in preparing traditional dishes for those she loved. Her beloved alfajores were a signature gift-made for weddings and special gatherings-sweet symbols of celebration and togetherness that brought smiles to many.

Moraima's life was a testament to love, generosity, and family. She brought people together with her laughter, her table, and her thoughtful creations. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit lives on in the traditions she passed down, the recipes she shared, the garments she stitched, and the family who carries her love forward.

Today, we celebrate a life richly lived and deeply loved. Mrs. Moraima will be deeply missed by all of those people who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass from 12:30 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 4337 Sal Lentini Pkwy, Kenner, LA on Saturday, March 7, 2026. A Rosary will be said from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. Refreshments and social will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A Memorial Mass will be held for close friends and family at Divine Mercy Parish at a later date.
