Michael Herbert Oliver, a veteran who served in the US Navy Reserve, and lifetime resident of Metairie, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the age of 67.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Amy Jo Caluda Oliver; precious daughters, Emily Christine Oliver and Mary Beth Oliver; grandchildren Langston and "Popsi" to Owen Oliver Davidson; brother, Glenn Michael Oliver; and his beloved service dog, Alley-Opp,

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents the late Herbert Willard Oliver and Shirley Mae Ricks.

Mr. Oliver joined the Patriot Guard Riders in 2007 and was appointed the New Orleans ride captain in 2009, coordinating hundreds of funerals of veterans, active-duty personnel, and casualties of the war over many years. He was also a long-time member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, serving in the New Orleans area. He was employed many years in the corporate offices of K&B Drugstores and Radiophone, Inc., as the PC coordinator and a computer analyst. Mike was an avid motorcyclist, traveling around the southeast on his Yamaha.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and Memorial Service at Parkview Baptist Church, 6301 Camphor St., Metairie, LA 70003 on Saturday, February 28, 2026. Visitation will be held at church from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m.
