Morris Neal, age 85 of New Ross, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Franciscan Health in Crawfordsville. He was born on September 6, 1938 to Elbert and Mildred (VanSickle) Neal at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Morris married Kathryn Nipper in 1959, raising their 4 children together and later divorced. He then married Judith Youngs on December 28, 1974, celebrating almost 50 years together.
Morris graduated from Russellville High School, Class of 1957. He was an auto body shop and collision repair technician, working at several local shops until opening Morris Neal Collison Center in 1983, retiring in 2009. Morris was a lifetime member of the Crawfordsville Moose and longtime member of New Hope Christian Church. He enjoyed raccoon hunting and loved all types of animals; caring for raccoons, foxes and rabbits. Morris preferred to have the companion of a loyal dog.
Morris is survived by his wife, Judith; children, Dee Osterhoudt, David Neal, Jeff Neal, Jerry Neal and; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Steven Neal; and brothers, Gene and Raymond Neal.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Sanders Funeral Care, 315 S Washington Street in Crawfordsville from 12 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery County AWL, 1104 Big 4 Arch Road, Crawfordsville, IN 47933.
