Mozell Lavine (Morris) Sims was born on February 12, 1939 at home which was the Oklahoma Western Phone Office. She passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025 at age 86. She grew up working at the phone office that her parents founded. Mozell then went on to become a teacher in Oklahoma and California, then retired from Edison Electric of California. Mozell then has second retirement from the phone office. She was a loving and hard working mother who was very generous and giving. She also loved to dance and love on her grandchildren.
Mozell is survived by her sister, Pauline VanHorn and brother, Jimmy Morris; sons, Dennis (Cindy), Steve (Karen), Tony; daughters, Paula (Mark) and Jackie (Chris); grandchildren, Joshua (Kathie), Emily, Desiree, Brandy (Johnny), and Chris (Michele); great grandchildren, Kayla, Riley, Avery, Iris, Brody, Carson, Conrad, and Orrin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Mozell is preceded in death by her parents, Juanita and Luther Morris; brothers, Jack, Benny, Henry, and Edward; sisters, Mary, Sadie and Linda.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 12th, 2025 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at McCarn Funeral Chapel in Clayton.
Services will be on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 2:00PM at Clayton First Baptist Church in Clayton. Interment will follow at AL Stephens Cemetery in Clayton. Services are under the direction of McCarn Funeral Service.
