Mr. Alan Grant Atkinson, age 81, of Monroe, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Mr. Atkinson was of the Baptist faith. He served his country faithfully in the Army and then retired both from the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier and the United States Air National Guard. Alan was a true American patriot.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Clint Atkinson; and step-grandchild, Londyn Grea Thrasher.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melody Gregory Paquin; son, Craig (Kim) Atkinson; step-children, Patricia Ann Norvelle and Crystal (Michelle) Thrasher; brother, Mark (Kathy) Atkinson; sister, Lynn Atkinson Cook; eight step-grandchildren, Erik Norvelle, Bruce Lee William Lucas, Christopher Brian Lucas, Syd Thrasher, Berklee Thrasher, Genesis Diana Thrasher, Avery Wren Thrasher, and Madison Shea Thrasher; and three step-great-grandchildren, Bryson Lucas, Jaysun Lucas, and Aiden Lucas.
A memorial service will be held at a later date once Mrs. Melody recovers from the automobile accident.
Maddox Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
