Eric Dwayne Sheppard B.K.A. (Shep) was born to the late Eugene and Mildred Standifer Sheppard on July 13, 1957 in
Dougherty County. He attended the Dougherty County Schools, where he graduated from
Dougherty Comprehensive High School in the class of 1976. Eric accepted Jesus Christ as his personal
savior and joined Greater 2nd Mount Olive Baptist Church, where he was a faithful member until his
health declined.
On August 2013, he met the love of his life, the lady of his dreams, Sabrina Washington- Sheppard and they were together for
thirteen wonderful years. Eric was employed at the U.S. Marines Logistics Base of Albany, Georgia in the
maintenance department. He retired and received many awards and accolades for the services he had
given.
Eric was a loveable and generous person that never met a stranger. If you ever came in contact with
Eric, you would remember his friendly smile. Eric was always the life of the party and very big on family
morals. Anybody that knew Eric, knows he didn’t play about his wife, kids, his grandkids, or family.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Mildred Sheppard, sister Glenda Sheppard, son
Curtis Wallace Jr. and grandson Jordan Dudley.
On May 10, 2023, a precious jewel transitioned to be with his heavenly father at Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital. God said come home my child, the battle was fought, and the victory was won.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories a loving wife, SabrinaWashington-Sheppard, four children Tomeka Favors,
Trana Wallace, Courtney Wallace, Henry Wallace, ten grandchildren, Tamaya Dudley, Terrell Wallace,
Taniah Wallace, Alexander Wallace, MyKiyah Wallace, Jamarcus Henderson, Brooklyn Stanley, Janaye
Henderson, Jayce Frazier, Markel Wallace, mother-in-law, Charlie Mae Davis, four sisters Vivian Davis,
Patricia Gaines, Gwendolyn Proctor, Sonja Sheppard-Richardson, favorite nephews, Kirven O. (Tondra)
Davis and Marquis P. (Angela) Davis, four brother in laws, Steven (Palantha) Washington, Richard
(Wanda) Washington, Carlet (Marla) Washington, and Johnny Washington, all of Albany, Georgia, six
sister in laws, Tracey Washington, Constance Washington, Brenda (Eric) McGowan, Janet (Tommy)
Davis, Stephanie Hogan, Carolyn (Claude) Chives, all of Albany, Georgia.
