NAUGATUCK - It is with profound sorrow that the family of Allison (Orcutt) Mejia share the news of
her unexpected passing on June 6, 2025, at the age of 52. She was the beloved wife of Jorge Mejia to whom she has been with for 10 years.
Allison was born on August 2, 1972, in Derby, CT, the daughter of Marilyn Mingrone and the late Mark Orcutt Sr. She was a proud graduate of Shelton High School, went on to work at Friendly’s for 26 years where she began as a waitress and graduated up to the general manager. After retirement from Friendly’s, Allison assisted Roma Florist. Known for her kindness and generosity, Allison often put the needs of others before her own. She had a deep love for gardening, particularly cherishing her lilacs, and found joy in nurturing her plants. Allison loved animals of all kinds but especially her beloved dog Niko. She loved preparing various dishes for her family and friends, always ensuring that everyone felt welcome and cherished around her table. An adventurous spirit, Allison embraced life's challenges,including learning to speak Spanish. What was most important to Allison was being with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to love and know her.
Besides her husband and mother, she leaves to honor her memory her children; Cruz Barros, Kayla Orcutt, and Jordan Ryan, and her granddaughter, Luna. Allison also leaves her siblings; Mark (Kathleen)Orcutt Jr., Lynne (Reinaldo) DeCarvalho, Tara (Mark) Brunetti, along with several nieces, nephews,extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service for Allison will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Casey’s Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury, CT 06705. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of her family. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with her family from 5:00 pm until the service commences at 6:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
