Mrs. Cora Mae Wilkins, age 89, of Winder, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Great Oaks Assisted Living in Monroe, Ga.
Mrs. Wilkins was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church. Throughout her career, she worked for Carwood Manufacturing Plant in Winder, GA and retired from the R and R Manufacturing Plant in Auburn, GA.
Cora Mae was the epitome of selflessness, always extending a helping hand to those in need. Her love for people was evident in her ability to strike up conversations with anyone, turning strangers into friends with her genuine interest and compassionate heart.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless lives touched by her kindness. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
Mrs. Wilkins was preceded in death by her husband, Thoyce Pharr Wilkins; parents, William Luther King and Sallie Mae Nunnally King; brothers, Clyde King, William King, and Robert King; sisters, Louise McDonald, Annette Kennedy, and Annie Krieger; and a special family member, Cody Brantley.
Mrs. Wilkins is survived by her brother, Larry King of Athens; sisters, Susie Nichols of Arcade, Barbara Cole of Winder, and Shirley Sleeper of Winder; special family, Bernard, Susan, and Clay Brantley; and a host of nieces and nephews also survive. Special thanks to niece Joan and Gary Mathews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Josh Mathews and Pastor Duke Forster officiating. The family will be receiving friends on Sunday from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Maddox-Carter Memorial Home.
The family respectfully request, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local charity of their choice in memory of this special lady.
Maddox-Carter Memorial Home, Winder, is entrusted with the arrangements.
