Ms. Billie Lewis (Woolard) Evans was born on August 11, 1934 in Bastrop, Louisiana to the late Kathleen Louise (Murphy) Woolard and Clovis Vernon Woolard. She passed away on May 9, 2023 in Saginaw, Texas at the age of 88 years old.
Billie grew up in Louisiana and Arkansas and was a graduate of Bastrop High School in Bastrop, Louisiana where she married the love of her life, Donald Ray Evans. She worked in Early Education and enjoyed her time working with children. She also worked in retail. Billie was a beautiful free spirit and had a bit of “wild child” in her that often led her to be the life of the party at family events and functions. Her favorite role in life was being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved nothing more than to be with her family and gave freely of her time, love and devotion. Billie generously offered her parental advice to all, including strangers, often offering a short book on positive affirmations for children that she authored. She greatly enjoyed ballroom and swing dancing. Billie was creative, inquisitive, innovative, independent, loving, generous, and loved her family with her whole heart. She will be missed deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law, Bill Haddock and brother-in-law, James Smith.
Billie is survived by her beloved daughters, Lisa Haddock of Watauga, Texas and Jennifer Hood and her husband, Christopher of Saginaw, Texas; adoring grandchildren, Rachel Fern and husband Lee Schoech of Fischer, Texas, Erin Haddock of Frisco, Texas, and Jessica Stewart and husband, Patrick of Saginaw, Texas; precious great-grandchildren, Madison Stewart, Grayson Stewart, and Allison Stewart. She is also survived by her sister, Shirley Smith of North Little Rock, Arkansas; and nieces, Pamela Steed and husband, Dwight, and Jamie Mitchell and husband Chris and their families; and “bonus” daughter Amy Milam.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Billie’s life at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel located at 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, Texas 76053.
