MSG Wallace Sylvester Toole, Jr.
Conyers, GA – Entered into rest on Friday, September 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born at home in Augusta, Georgia in 1930, Wallace worked most of his life. Beginning in 1943 shining shoes on Broad Street and throwing newspapers from his bicycle in Augusta. After graduating in 1948 from The Academy of Richmond County, he worked in the Enterprise Mill briefly before hiring on at The Savannah River Site where he retired in 1990 as Assistant Chief of Security. He was a proud MSG in the Army National Guard from 1953-1983.
Family members include daughters: Bobbie Boyd (Jeff), Deborah Thompson (the late Paul Thompson); son: Chip Toole (Jim Davis); grandchildren: Phillip and Alex (Kelcie) Boyd, Ken (Nancy) Felten, Jason Thompson; great-grandchildren: Gracie Felten and Austen Thompson; He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years: Monteen “Montie” Toole; his parents: Wallace S. Toole, Sr. and Virginia Brown Toole; daughter: Sylvia Toole; sister: Lillie Lee Clabey (Howard).
A graveside service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Park Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Don Prosser officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 until 1:30 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Road, Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 362-8484.
