Arlan Lee Schulz, affectionately known as Mud Cat, was born on April 21, 1940, in Mankato, Minnesota, and passed away peacefully on November 11, 2023, in Genoa City, Wisconsin. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, known for his friendly, funny, and spirited nature.
Arlan attended Mankato High School. After graduation, Arlan found his calling as a Factory Foreman, a position he held with dedication.
He was a devoted family man, cherished by his wife Kathy Schulz, his son Gene (Heather) Schulz, and his daughters Sherry (Dave Bernardini) Harrelson and the late LeeAnn Grady. Arlan was a doting grandfather to Mallory (John Bivens) Harrelson, Erin (Peter) Kang, the late Ryan Grady, Tamera (Dave) Winborn, Courtney Harrelson, Haley Schulz, and Kendall Eckenroth. He also had the joy of becoming a great-grandfather to Alexa Winborn, Hannah Winborn, Isabelle Kang, and Ashton Kang. His love and dedication to his family were evident in every aspect of his life.
A man of many interests, Arlan was a fisherman, an avid golfer, and a lover of 1950's music. He was often the life of the party, with his infectious laughter and knack for joke telling. He was also known for his love of dancing, often having a long waiting line for an opportunity to dance with him. He was a pitcher for several softball teams, where his nick name Mud Cat originated.
One of Arlan's other great loves was beer. He could often be found enjoying a cold brew after a long day of work or an afternoon on the golf course. His love for golf was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends, with whom he shared countless memorable moments.
Arlan's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His friendly, funny, and spirited nature will forever be remembered. His memory will continue to inspire and guide his loved ones in the years to come.
In remembering Arlan, we celebrate a life well-lived. A life full of love, laughter, and joy. A life that touched many and left the world a better place. His spirit will forever shine bright in the hearts of his beloved family and friends. Arlan Lee (Mud Cat) Schulz, you will be dearly missed, but your memory will live on forever.
