77, of Cranston and Lincoln, RI, passed away quietly and unexpectedly on October 16, 2024. Born on December 25, 1946 in Ramallah, Jordan, he was the son of the late Reverend Ayoub Elia Rihani and Mufideh Nimri. He graduated at the top of his class from Alexandria University, Egypt, with a degree in Civil Engineering and worked as a Chief Engineer in the countries of Jordan and Saudi Arabia. He later immigrated to the United States in 1985 where he established a successful export business.
Munir was married to Alessandra (Vianello), until her passing in 2001, and subsequently married Dr. Jill Theroux.
Munir was known for his generous spirit, magnetic personality, and boisterous laugh that lit up the room. From a young age he expressed a strong interest in the fine arts which he loved and enjoyed collecting. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all those who knew him.
His memory will be forever cherished in the lives of his children: Fares Rihani, Sabrina Garibian, Munir Rihani Jr., and Ava Sky Rihani; his five grandchildren: Raffi, Alessandra, Valentina and Daniela Garibian, and Savannah Rihani; son-in-law, Antranig Garibian; daughter-in-law, Shawna Rihani. He is also survived by his ten brothers and sisters: Jeries Rihani, Fida Rihani, Ghaleb Rihani, Nabila Rihani, Elia Rihani, Ruthy Fakhouri, David Rihani, Esther Nimry, Nathan Rihani, Grace Rihani, and their spouses; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
To commemorate his remarkable life and the memories we cherish, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday October 19, 2024, at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston. Followed by burial in Swan Point Cemetery. VISITING HOURS will be held from 8:00 – 9:00 am at the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave., Cranston. We welcome all who knew him to join us in celebrating the life of a man who was loved deeply and will be greatly missed.
