Muriel Lee (Wood) Beaver, known as Murrie Lee to friends and family, was born Dec. 21, 1948, in Pittsburg, KS, to the late Dr. Douglas and Muriel (Williamson) Wood. She was a 1966 graduate of Pittsburg High School, and later of the University of Kansas. She married Robert Beaver in 1970 and they later divorced. In recent years she lived in Florissant, CO. She died March 7, 2026, in Colorado Springs, CO, after a long term of declining health. She is survived by two sons: Joseph Beaver and his wife Rebecca Dean of East Lansing, MI, and their children, Margaret, Dominic, and Ella; and James Beaver and his wife Marisa of Colorado Springs, CO, and their children, Jace and Annalee; and three brothers, Lauren Wood (Gail) of Olathe, KS; Gordon Wood (Cristine) of Overland Park, KS; and Keith Wood (Barbara) of Lawrence, KS; and seven nieces and nephews. Private Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS, alongside her parents.
