Askew Funeral and Cremation Services - CavalierMuriel Latozke, 97, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Cavalier, ND, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Eventide Senior Living, Fargo, ND. Memorial Service will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service at the church.
Muriel Rose (Keena) Latozke was born January 25, 1928, on a farm near Hamilton to Loretta O’Hara Keena and Sheril Keena. She grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Hamilton High School in 1946. She then attended Mayville State College, earning a Teachers Certificate. She taught at Bruce Community School for 3 years. Muriel married Art Latozke on June 9,1948 at Christ Lutheran Church in Neche, ND. They had 5 children: Dean, Margaret, Mary, Larry and Trudy.
Muriel was employed at Pembina County Memorial Hospital and Wedgewood Manor for 28 years.
She was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Cavalier. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Muriel is survived by her children: Margaret (Ed) Scherpinsky, Mary (Mark) Saunders, Larry (Sandi) Latozke, Trudy Latozke, Mary Ellen Latozke (Daughter-in-law), several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Art Latozke, her parents - Loretta and Sheril, son, Dean Latozke and brothers: Louis, Earl, Dale, Harvey and John; sisters: Betty Fae Ray, Carol McIntyre and Mary Jane Cummins.
