A memorial service for Muriel Paschal McCoy, age 96, of Fayetteville, Tennessee, will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Higgins Funeral Home with Reverend Bruce McVey officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at Higgins. Burial will take place at Bethel Cemetery in Range, Ohio, at a later date.

Mrs. McCoy was born on February 24, 1929, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Dr. Franklin Cressy Paschal, Sr., Ph.D., and Gail Grant Paschal. She was a graduate of Wittenberg University, Class of 1951, where she was a proud member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.

A skilled and dedicated professional, Mrs. McCoy retired from Redstone Arsenal, where she served as a Computer Systems Analyst. Her career achievements were recognized internationally; she was listed in Who's Who in International Career and Professional Women and nominated for the organization's Hall of Fame.

Mrs. McCoy was a longtime member of the Fayetteville First Presbyterian Church and also affiliated with the Order of the Eastern Star. Her life was marked by faith, intellect, and devotion to family and community.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Worley Lester McCoy, and her brother, ENS Franklin Cressy Paschal, Jr. She is survived by her children, Marita McCoy Durham of Huntsville, Alabama, and Lester Dean McCoy of Fayetteville; brother, Eugene Cochran Paschal of Danville, California; and grandchildren, Madeline Claire Durham, Dean Kobe McCoy, and Lawrence Kade McCoy.

Mrs. McCoy will be remembered for her intelligence, grace, and steadfast spirit. A life well lived and a legacy of love and achievement.
