Obituary of Murl Ann Johnson
In loving memory of Murl Ann Johnson, age 78, who passed away on August 26, 2022. She was the devoted wife of Steve A. Johnson and loving mother of her adopted daughter, Susan A. Cook and her son, Cecil L. Luttrull. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Murl came into this life on April 26,1944 to parents Braidy C. and Daisy Kearbey in Paducah, Ky. She was the sister to four brothers and four sisters. She spent much of her early life in Poplar Bluff, Mo. where most of her family remains today.
Murl was a kind, caring, and giving person who always put the needs of her family before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity. She was a source of inspiration to all who knew her. As a wife, she was loving and loyal and as a mother, she was our biggest cheerleader and supporter.
Murl had a bachelor's degree in Medical Administration and was a working woman who gave her all to any task she was given. She had worked in many industries from cook to deputy sheriff. People she encountered became family and she was devoted to making all who knew her feel loved and cared for. She loved gardening, sewing, Scrabble, and especially animals. The many animals in her life were countless and counted as her children.
She leaves behind her husband of 26 years, Steve A. Johnson, her two children Susan A. Cook and Cecil L. Luttrull, along with 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. With all she leaves behind, she leaves inspiration for us all to aspire to.
