Thomas Abbott Obituary
Tom is survived by his wife, Judi Wicker Abbott; daughter, Becky Jones (Rick) of Lexington, SC; Sons, Chad Abbott of Henderson, Kentucky; Derek Abbott (Hillary) of Craftsbury, VT; brother, Evan Abbott of Robards, KY; granddaughter, Brooke Dykstra (Adam) of Lexington, SC; Carli Abbott and Ellie Abbott of Craftsbury, VT; Layna Jones of Denver, CO; grandson, Finley Abbott of Craftsbury, VT; great-granddaughters, Emma Dykstra & Adalyn Dykstra of Lexington, SC; many loving nieces, nephews, faithful friends, neighbor and companion canine, Callie.
In addition to his parents, Evan C & Dorothy Margaret (Byrd) Abbott, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Abbott (Betty); sisters, Dolly Hope (J.D.); Sue Howell (Ray) & Edith Wilson (Ed), all of KY.
Tom and Julie moved from Castle Rock, CO to Lexington, SC in 2018, following children and grandchildren. Moving to Lexington Villas in June 2023, enjoying the wonderful neighbors and special friends. Many issues and problems were discussed and solved in his garage or patio. Tom will be greatly missed, especially on those Traeger grilling days.
A memorial service will be held in Henderson, KY later in the spring.
The family sends heartfelt appreciation to all his doctors, nurses, caregivers, Lexington Medical Center & Extended Care Center, Interim Home Health, Agape Care Group, and Agape Hospice House for the excellent care given during his illness; Pastor Mack McDowell, and the entire family of friends of Lexington United Methodist Church, the amazing friends on Fire Tower Road, the family's friends at Lexington High School, and the extraordinary residents of Lexington Villas for all your caring deeds, thoughts and prayer.
