Murline McKinney Harcrow, age 82, of Morgantown, KY passed away on Friday, Jan. 24, 2025 at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. She was born on June 14, 1942 in Butler Co., KY to the late John and Jossie Garner McKinney. Murline was a woman of enduring strength and boundless joy who deeply cherished her family. Her vibrant spirit shone through her love of singing, dancing, and traveling between Alabama and Kentucky. She found delight in life's simple pleasures and treasured the beautiful memories she created with her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, James Wesley Colter and Milton Lee Harcrow; five children Tommy Colter, Steve Colter, infants James W. Colter, Gladys A. Colter and Lonnie W. Colter; siblings Dallas McKinney, Mildred Ludwig, Dorothy Proctor, Beatrice Neighbors and Shirley Elmore; son-in-law Reggie Henderson.
Murline leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her surviving family: her children Danny Colter (Sue) of Bowling Green, KY, Judy Henderson of Morgantown, KY and Kathy Edwards (Jimmy) of Vernon, AL; special friend who held a special place in her heart, Steve Prater of Morgantown, KY; brother Willard McKinney of Morgantown, KY. Murline was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, all of whom brought joy to her life, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 at 12:00pm at Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Neighbors officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan Smith Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 29 from 3:00pm until 8:00pm and Thursday, Jan. 30 from 8:00am until 12:00pm at Smith Funeral Home. The family invites all who knew and loved Murline to celebrate her life and share in the memories of the remarkable woman she was. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
