Myles Joseph Byrnes III was born on January 10, 1959 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He completed high school in Jersey City, New Jersey and enlisted in the military in 1979.

He served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer. During his time of service, he was stationed in and on multiple bases throughout the United States and also in Germany, and was deployed for Operation Desert Storm in the Gulf War, receiving The Army Commendation Medal. Myles retired from the U.S. Army as a decorated soldier on April 30, 1995.

Since retirement, he has held many interesting positions such as, a long-haul truck driver, a child-behavioral services team member, a corrections officer and finally retired as a security officer for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Myles was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father, Myles J Byrnes Jr. and his brother, Michael Byrnes.

He leaves to cherish is memories, his mother, Theresa Logan, his children, Jerome (Jenny) Byrnes, his daughter, Brandie Byrnes-Jackson, his siblings, Vincent Byrnes, Jeff (Angela) Logan, Dee (Andy) Walker, granddaughters, Alexia and Allona Byrnes, Aunt, Katherine Kaplan, nieces and nephews, Kyla Walker, Kirstie (Joel) Wilson, Katlyn Walker, Jenna Rhoades, Malik Johnson, Caleb Walker and Shea Groves, great niece Nylah Wilson, great nephews, Rah’Kai Williams, Sebastian Menefield and Jaxon Croomes, and his extended family, Ralph and Esther Warfield.

Myles enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, eating out at BJ’s Brewhouse and at the Supreme Buffet & Hibachi. He liked watching the Columbus Blue Jackets and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. His presence will be missed, but his spirit will never be forgotten.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Kobacker House, The Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, The Living Faith Apostolic Church family and friends for all of your comforting words, thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
