Mylo Phillip Lundquist, age 94, passed away peacefully at his home in North Branch on Saturday, August 9, 2025.

Mylo was born November 13, 1930 to Philip and Edna (Kezar) Lundquist. He grew up on the family farm in Almelund. He attended the Reed Country School for a time, was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and graduated from Taylors Falls High School in 1949. Along with twin brother Marloe, he enlisted in the Air Force and served in Korea. Upon returning, he attended the U of M for a short time then started work with the Minneapolis Park Board later transferring to the Metropolitan Airport Commission, where he worked until he retired. He was introduced to Irene Collen of Coon Lake by a mutual friend, and they were married on December 5th, 1959 at Fridley Covenant Church.

In 1969, he moved his family from Minneapolis to Almelund to be near his dad and help with the farm. He served on the Taylors Falls school board for many years and was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. He enjoyed camping with his family, traveling, golfing, reading and reunions with all his cousins. He cherished his grandsons and attended all their sporting events. They were so present that some teammates of his grandsons called him and Irene 'grandma' and 'grandpa'.

Mylo is preceded in death by his parents, wife Irene, sister Yvonne (Shirley) Gunderson, brothers Jim (James) and Marloe. He is survived by daughter Lori, son Scott, grandsons Nicholas (Schenia) of Shafer and Andrew (Molly) of Minneapolis, great grandchildren Nileena and Jedariun, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund and in lieu of flowers, donations may be given to your local Food Shelf.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at church on Friday. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
