Gordon Allan Deppe, affectionately known to many as "Gator" or "Gordo," passed away peacefully on July 6, 2025, in
North Branch, Minnesota, after a valiant battle with glioblastoma brain cancer. He was 58 years old.
Born on September 9, 1966, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Gordon grew up with a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a heart devoted to his family and friends. He was the beloved son of Janice Liljedahl and Richard Deppe, both of whom preceded him in death. Gordon was a loyal brother to Jeff Steinbruckner and Daryl Shields, and an endlessly proud father to his cherished son, Jordon Deppe, who survives him.
Gordon's life was marked by several important milestones. He graduated from North Branch High School and went on to complete vocational training in small engine mechanics, a trade that suited both his innate curiosity and his practical skills. Gordon's professional journey included many years with Roger Vadnais Plumbing, eventually continuing on with Aquarius Home Services, where he was known as a reliable coworker and a friend to all.
Known as a "gentle giant," Gordon radiated warmth and positivity. His honesty, caring nature, and playful humor endeared him to everyone he met. Whether it was a friend having a tough day or a stranger in need of a hand, Gordon never hesitated to lift spirits. He took joy in making people laugh, telling stories around a campfire, and ensuring everyone felt included and welcome in his company.
The great outdoors was Gordon's sanctuary. He relished every opportunity to fish, hunt grouse and deer, and explore trails on his beloved ATV. Some of his happiest moments were spent alongside Jordon and friends, rolling dice and weaving tales in countless games of Dungeons & Dragons. Many evenings were shared under starlit skies, gathered around a campfire, swapping jokes and stories that seemed to grow taller with each retelling.
Even as health challenges arose, Gordon never stopped helping others. He gladly pitched in on projects for friends, doing whatever he could-and sometimes a little bit more-even when his back protested. That willingness to give and his steadfast loyalty are qualities that will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
To honor Gordon's generous life and loving spirit, a celebration of life will be held on September 13, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the family home: 32378 I Trail,
North Branch, MN 55056. Friends, family, and all who knew Gordo are invited to gather for barbecue, some of his favorite foods, bonfire, pictures, stories, laughter, and plenty of hugs. Please bring a chair and your favorite beverage; water, pop, and beer will also be available. For more information, contact Jeff at 612-685-3402.
Gordon's memory lives on in the countless lives he touched with kindness, humor, and unwavering support.
