Obituary
On Friday, June 30, 2023, Myra Lynn Collier Mathews, 64, resident of Booneville, passed away peacefully at Tishomingo Living Center, in Iuka, following an extended illness. Services honoring the life of Mrs. Mathews will be at 2 PM Wednesday, July 5, in the Heritage Chapel in Ripley Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Harvill officiating. Visitation will be from 12 PM until time of service.
Mrs. Mathews was born January 20, 1959, in Corinth, Ms. to the late Cletus Buddy and Ona Ruth Harvill Collier. She received her education from South Side High School in Hardin County, TN and later married her beloved husband, Roger Mathews on January 19, 1977, who preceded her in death on July 8, 2020. A homemaker for most of her life and a member of Victory Baptist Church, she enjoyed her daily Diet Mountain Dew's and numerous trips to her local Dollar General. Mrs. Mathews will be remembered as a person who loved her family and adored her granddaughters whom she referred to as her "babies."
Precious memories will continue to be shared by her daughter, Courtney Miles (Wesley) of Booneville, three granddaughters, Madison, Presley and Marli Shockley all of Booneville, two sisters, Connie Kelley (Roger) of Chewalla, TN and Marilyn Collier of Corinth, her nieces, nephews and all extended family.
Along with her husband she is also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Crabb and a precious nephew, Jason Crabb.
