Myra Solano Spelman, 99, of Hahira, peacefully passed on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
A native of Costa Rica, she was born to a large, beautiful family. She became a citizen of the United States on February 19, 1960. Proud of her heritage she was also proud to be an American. She smiled big and she loved even bigger. Laughter had to be had if she was around. She instilled strong values of courage, hard work and family bonds. She was genuinely loved by all who had the opportunity to know her. She was FUN!!! She stood her ground for what she believed in, and most of all she loved HER Jesus. Her every action was preceded by the words, "If the Lord's willing".... In her memory the family asks that you live life to the fullest, love even bigger and laugh until you cry, and do it often.
She leaves behind her daughter and son-in-law, Edna and Hal Cooper of Hahira; her son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Joy Lewis of Florida; grandchildren and spouses, Dusty and Josh Hill, Jennifer and Kyle Tanner and John and Amber Cooper all of Hahira, and Niko Lewis of Florida; great-grandchildren, A.J. Hartley, Abbie Hartley, Cooper Corbitt, Coy Corbitt, Dallen Bailey, Joshua Hill and Carson Cooper; great-great-grandchild, Cain Belcher; a sister, Mirian Granodos Solano of Costa Rica, and numerous relatives in Costa Rica. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Joel Robert Smith and Lloyd Richard Spelman.
