Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel on Nov. 3, 2025.
Myra "Jeanne" (Gossom) Spillman Hall, age 91, of Cambridge City, Indiana entered into this life on November 19, 1933 as a twin to the late James "Chip" Gossom in
Milton, Kentucky where she resided most of her life. Jeanne and the late Howard Spillman were married for 47 years before his passing. They were blessed with five children, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. While raising her family, she dedicated over 20 years of service before retiring from Reliance in
Madison, Indiana. Jeanne remarried in 2004 to Charlie Hall of Cambridge City, Indiana.
Jeanne was a strong, capable, and hard-working woman with an intense caregiving spirit. Jeanne loved to cook and even more enjoyed eating good food. She was known by many for her superior cooking skills. She showed her love for family and friends through her cooking and serving them. She would not eat her meal until she made sure everyone else had all that they needed. Jeanne always had an open invitation to holiday meals for those that did not have a place to go. She was a beautiful lady inside and out.
Jeanne served the Lord since her early childhood. For many years at Milton United Methodist Church, she loved serving by singing in the choir. She would complement others saying they earned their crown in heaven today. However, truth be told, she was the one that earned many crowns!
She loved to read aloud every word that came into her view such as every sign and word on the television - amazingly at age 91 she did not require any vision correction. Jeanne always maintained her humor and could make you laugh with either what she was saying or her exaggerated expressions. She has always been the beloved cornerstone of her family, and she will be deeply missed.
