Doris Jean "Lock" Van Wye

Doris Jean Van Wye, age 62, of Madison, Indiana, and the daughter of Ralph and Shirley (Clubb) Lock, was born on May 24, 1963, in Madison. She graduated from Southwestern High School in Hanover, Indiana. On June 11, 1983, she was united in marriage to Richard Lyle "Rick" Van Wye at the Kent Christian Church by Bro. Doug Lee. Rick and Doris enjoyed over 26 wonderful years together and this union was blessed with one son, Derin. For almost 30 years, she was dedicated to her job at Grote Industries, Inc. until her retirement in 2012. In her spare time, she was a collector of items such as baskets and Boyds bears. Mrs. Van Wye passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at her residence in Madison.

Her life will be cherished by her son: Derin Van Wye, of Madison; her grandson: Jordan Van Wye; her mother: Shirley Lock of Madison; her brother: Darrell Lock, Sr. and his wife, Lisa of Hanover, Indiana; her nephew: Darrell Lock, Jr of Madison.; and her wonderful caregivers of the last two years: Tim and Stacy Perkins. Doris was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Lock; her husband: Richard "Rick" Van Wye who passed away on December 31, 2009; and her nieces: Crystal Lock and Brittany Kay Lock.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison. Friends and family may visit at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday. Interment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens at a later date.
