Mrs. Myra Hollingsworth Stephens, 93, of Doerun died Monday, August 26, 2013 at her residence. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at the Evergreen Baptist Church with interment to follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Michael Kennedy and Rev. Ronald Barrett will officiate. Mrs. Stephens was born on December 27, 1919 in Worth County to the late Otis Hollingsworth and Iris Bell Hollingsworth Fowler. She was a lifelong resident of Worth County and a homemaker. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Evergreen Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for several years. Survivors include her daughter, Venescia S. Knight of Albany; daughter-in-law, Linda P. Stephens of Sylvester; granddaughters, Wendy Kennedy (Mickey), Marsha S. Kimbrel (David), Melanie S. Potts (Ken), Monica S. Brooks (Todd); 9 great grandchildren, Michael and Zachary Kennedy, Kathleen, Katherine and Kole Kimbrel, James and Kari Potts and Payton and Makenna Brooks; 2 great-great grandchildren, Anna Joy and Leah Grace Kennedy; a sister Annette Jacobs of Dawson Springs, KY. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her husband J. O. Stephens; a son Marcus Stephens; a brother and two sisters. For those desiring memorials may be made to Evergreen Baptist Church Building Fund c/o Bob Potts, 2442 Evergreen Rd., Doerun, GA 31744. The family will receive friends Tuesday August 27th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Banks Funeral Home.
