Myra Johnson Welch, 84 passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford (601 Commerce Parkway, Oxford, MS, 38655). A funeral service will immediately follow on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.

Myra was born on February 19, 1941, in Yocona, Mississippi to the late Judge Rhone and Ethel Irene Harmon Johnson.

She was a proud "Scrapper" graduate of South Side High School, class of 1959. During her school years, she served as the president of the Theta Rho Girls, a role that showcased her natural leadership and compassionate spirit early on.

In 1958, Myra married the love of her life, Robert Welch. Their enduring marriage of 67 years was a testament to true partnership, devotion, and unwavering affection. Together, they built a home that radiated warmth and welcome, always open to family and friends. Myra's open-door policy made her house a safe haven for everyone she knew, and her hospitality was matched only by her immense kindness.

Myra dedicated her professional life to bookkeeping, culminating in her role as controller at Industrial Conveyor Corp., where she worked until her well-earned retirement in 2018. Her diligence and integrity in her work reflected the same values she carried into her personal life.

Family was the cornerstone of Myra's happiness. She adored her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her precious great-great-grandson, who were each a source of pride and joy. Her love for them was boundless and unconditional.

Christmas was Myra's favorite holiday. She delighted in decorating, buying gifts, and, most importantly, celebrating with her family. Her home sparkled with festive cheer, and her traditions brought everyone closer together.

Myra had a passion for gnomes, gardening, and bird watching. She was an avid crafter, painter, and especially enjoyed decorating wedding cakes for her family and close friends. She was also known for her delicious cooking, her love of travel and adventure, her enjoyment of casino fun, and her quiet moments fishing by the water.

Myra's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, laughter, and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she cherished.

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Ernest Welch of Booneville, MS; her two daughters, Cindy Harris of Booneville, MS, and Dianna Hall (Joey) of Pinson, AL; her son, Allen Johnson (Trudy) of Vancleave, MS; her three granddaughters, Melinda Russell (Jack) of Olive Branch, MS, Anna Koch (Freddy) of Montevallo, AL, and Olivia Molnar (Bobby) of Walnut, MS; her nine grandsons, Brandon Goad (Heather) of Baldwyn, MS, Anthony Harris (Heather) of Baldwyn, MS, Jason Harris (Lydia) of Booneville, MS, Christopher Welch (Xing) of Olive Branch, MS, Stuart Johnson (Amber) of Biloxi, MS, Tristan Johnson (Jenna Lee VanCleef) of St. Martin, MS, Daniel Johnson (Jasmine) of St. Martin, MS, Zackary Johnson (Kayla) of Charleston, NC and James Holland of Mattaponi, VA; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Myra is preceded in death by her son, Robert Dale Welch; her parents Judge Rhone and Ethel Irene Harmon Johnson; her brother, Bobby Dean Johnson; a sister, Mary Evelyn Ferge; and her son-in-law, Tony Harris.

The staff at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is honored to serve the family during this challenging season of life. Condolences may be expressed online on her Tribute wall at www.colemanfuneralhomeox.com
