Myrdene Ruth Borchert, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on August 15, 1933, in Brandon, Minnesota and she attended country school near Miltona, MN. She lived a full and vibrant life filled with love and dedication to those around her.
Myrdene’s career path reflected her commitment to service and hard work. She began her journey at J.C. Penney, followed by her time at 3M, ultimately culminating her professional life in SPD at the local hospital. In addition to her career, she was an active participant in the life of Calvary Lutheran Church, where her contributions and spirit were warmly welcomed.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Myrdene's hobbies and interests brought joy to herself and those around her. She was passionate about gardening, often decorating her home with vibrant flowers. Her talents in knitting and crocheting complemented her love for baking, particularly during the holiday season when she would showcase her famous Christmas cookies. Myrdene enjoyed creating a welcoming environment for her family, hosting them for holidays, where her love for family was palpably expressed.
Myrdene's family was paramount in her life. She married Donald Borchert in 1950, solidifying a partnership that would span many cherished years. She is survived by her son, Steven (Jeannine) Borchert; her grandchildren, Kelly Jo Borchert (Breckon Jesperson) and Carrie Ann Johnson (David Heuchert); and her great-grandchildren, Greyson Johnson and Kyler Johnson. She is also remembered fondly by her brothers, Dennis (Doris) Froemming and Robert (Lorna) Froemming, as well as her sister, Ivadelle Diedrich.
In reflection, Myrdene is preceded in death by her husband; parents; her sons, Daniel Borchert and Mark Borchert; and her brothers, Lowell (Jean) Froemming and Roger (Sandra) Froemming. The legacy of Myrdene Ruth Borchert lives on in the hearts of her family and friends who cherish the memory of her loving spirit and the warmth she brought to their lives.
Visitation and memorial services will be held on November 26, 2025, at Anderson Funeral Home located at 659 Voyager Drive NW, Alexandria, MN. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. All who knew Myrdene are invited to come and honor her remarkable life.
