Myrl "Ole" Elmer Olson, age 67 of New London, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 19, 2025 at Cherry Meadows. Myrl was born in Phelps, WI on December 3, 1957 to the late Norman and Carolyn (McFaul) Olson. He moved to New London at the age of 5 and went to Emanuel Lutheran School and New London High School. He worked for the City of New London for 38 years. Myrl was a loyal member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, where he often served as an usher. He enjoyed deer hunting with friends. Being an animal lover, Myrl always had cats and dogs. He was a generous donator to several animal organizations, the Native American Reservations, Churches and political organizations. As a collector, Myrl enjoyed memorabilia from the Chicago Cubs, the Cleveland Browns, old cookbooks, and old fashion egg-beaters.

Myrl enjoyed and loved his wife, Laurie; sisters, Carol (Dennis) Steinberg, and Anita Barrera; mother-in-law, Mary Benotch; sister-in-law, Jennifer Dordel, along with many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Myrl was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenny; brother-in-law, Ruben Barrera; nephew-in-law, Brian Malouf; great-nephew, Trevor Malouf and father-in-law, James Benotch.

The Funeral Service for Myrl will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Seth Dorn officiating. The visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cherry Meadows, along with Pastor Heiges and Pastor Berger for the amazing support and prayers in our time of need.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Myrl's honor can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Winneconne and/or Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London.
