Myrle was born August 6, 1920 in Peru to Peter and Martha (Kramer) Braun. December 25th, 1942, Myrle married her forever love, Clarence, at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, LaSalle.
Myrle was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School, LPO, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Bradley University. Myrle began her teaching career in a one room school house at Mt. Palestine, near McNabb. She taught in Ladd, where she continued to make lifelong friends with the students she touched. Her next teaching position was at Jefferson School in LaSalle where she taught for 23 years. Myrle was active in LaSalle County Retired Teachers, Lily Rebekah Lodge, First Congregational Church of Peru where she was a member of Ladies Aid and various other church committees.
Myrle lived a full life with family and friends. Myrle's winters were often spent in Florida and Alabama, while her summers were spent in her beloved summer home on Deer Lake in Minnesota. You could always hear her say she was going "Up North" where she made lasting memories with family and friends. She loved needle crafts, cooking, entertaining, fishing, (she got the big ones), and most of all family and friends. Her giving heart will be missed.
Surviving is their son, Michael (Jackie) Sapienza. She was blessed with two grandchildren, Laura (Mike) Hollerich and Michael (Erin) Sapienza, five great-grandchildren, Anthony and Andrew Hollerich, Megan, Michael, and Emma Sapienza, nieces and nephews, and 13-year caregiver, Andy Ivakhnenko.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Clarence, in 2019, her parents, and her brother, Orville Braun.
