Myrna McConnell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowers Funeral Home - Houlton on Jan. 26, 2026.
Lincoln - Myrna Marie (Pinkham) McConnell was born on March 9, 1939, in Millbridge, Maine, the daughter of Vera C. (Ray) Pinkham and Handy E. Pinkham. After the passing of her mother when Myrna was just four years old, Celia Warren Pinkham lovingly stepped into the role of her second mother, sharing that bond for more than fifty years.

Myrna was predeceased by her father Handy, her stepmother Celia, her sister Peggy Pinkham, and many beloved aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her devoted husband of over 64 years, Milledge "Midge" McConnell; her siblings, Adelbert Pinkham (Cindy), Lewis Pinkham (Linda), Shaun Pinkham (Marcia), Timothy Pinkham (Ava), Kim Pinkham, Richard Pinkham, Bud (Michelle) Means and Emma Carter. She will be deeply missed by her children: Valerie Hanscom (Wayne), Stephen McConnell (Angela), and Ethan McConnell (Sayla).

Myrna cherished her role as "Mimi" She leaves behind grandchildren Leslie, Jacob (Cassie), Eben, Anthony (Alicia), Cameron (Ashley), Joseph, Aidree (Jared), Abbie, Madeleine, and Connor, as well as great-grandchildren Cy, Chloe, Parker, Brody, and Lennon.

A proud graduate of Sumner Memorial High School, Class of 1957, and Washington State Teachers College, Class of 1961, Myrna dedicated 37 years to teaching in Robbinston and Lincoln. Her warm spirit and gift for connecting with others left an impression on countless students, many of whom she could recall by name years later.

Myrna's life was filled with love, laughter, and simple joys. She delighted in cooking for family and friends, playing cards, and gathering with loved ones. She had a passion for music, dancing, travel, reading, and gardening. Some of her happiest moments were spent watching the waves at Schoodic Point or sunsets at Sunset Point.

She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, and she supported her community through her involvement and generosity.

Visiting hours will be from 12-2 PM on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Bowers Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, ME. A Celebration of Myrna's Life will take place at 2PM at Bowers Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln, ME.
