Mrs. Myrtice Dean (Moss) Hadley finished her earthly race and received her Heavenly reward on Saturday, February 8, 2025. She made her crossing, at the age of 88, from Washington County Hospital and Nursing Home, with her husband and family by her side.

Born on September 5, 1936, to parents William Guy "Buster" and Mary M. "Mamie" Moss. She married the love of her life, Rodney Hadley, on August 20, 1955. They would welcome a son, Ronald, and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth "Beth".

Raised to love and serve the Lord, she was a life-long member of Reynolds Holiness Church. She was so proud of her Godly heritage and loved to tell the stories of her growing up in the church. She spent her life serving the Lord, her church, and her community. She served as church secretary for well over 20 years, taught Sunday School, and spent much time in preparation for their annual campmeeting, where she prepared one of the weekly meals for over 50 years.

In 1960, Mrs. Hadley went to work as a bookkeeper at Sheffield's Furniture in Chatom. She worked there for over 22 years until she left and became a secretary at Alfa Insurance. She was a loyal employee there until her retirement. Whenever it was needed, she used her organizational skills to coordinate "benefits" for "poundings" for those in the community who had a need. She was always a servant to others.

Upon her retirement, "Mimi", as she was lovingly known to her grandchildren, spent her time reading, quilting, and embroidering. She loved helping others and always tried to find ways of doing so, even when her poor health limited her ability to leave home. Through the years, she was known for the cards that she sent to those whom she felt needed words of encouragement. This was her ministry.

She travels ahead of her husband of 69 years, Rodney, her two children, Ronald (Debbie) Hadley and Beth (David) Goldman, her adoptive daughter, Angie Goldman, and four grandchildren, Christy Goldman, Joshua (Sigrid) Smitt-Goldman, Roger (Cassie) Hadley, and Kendra (Corey) Brown. She was also cherished by her 9 great grandchildren, Abigail (Michael) Fowler, Gabriel Carter, Micah Carter, Macie Goldman, Carlie Goldman, Allie Goldman, Addison Hadley, Bette Hadley, and Makayla Brown as well as 3 great-great grandchildren, Sophie Carter, Sawyer McDonald, and Shiloh Fowler. She is also survived by her brother, Mack (Lisa) Moss, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Mamie Moss, her brother Joe Moss, and her twin granddaughters, Alicia Jean and Elicia Dean Hadley.

She was always found with a smile on her face, a word of encouragement for others, a song in her heart, and a prayer on her lips. She leaves behind a legacy of love for family, service to others, and most importantly, faithfulness to God. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. She has now heard the words that she has lived her entire life for, 'Well done my good and faithful servant".

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Reynolds Holiness Church in Chatom. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral begins at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Larry Daugherty, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Roger Hadley, Joshua Smitt-Goldman, Gabriel Carter, Michah Carter, Corey Brown, and Robert Gilley.
