Sharon W. Hadley

Sharon Lee Wade Hadley, 81, of Kaysville, Utah, passed away on July 30, 2025, due to complications following heart surgery. Her life of service to family and friends is marked by optimism and a commitment to always do what is right.

Born and raised in Ogden, Utah, Sharon was the only child of Blaine and Fern Wade. She grew up with a keen mind and a love for learning, excelling in math, music, and accounting. At Ogden High School, she served as editor of the yearbook, and she later earned an associate degree.

Sharon first met Vern when he was a young Boy Scout attending troop meetings held at her home. Their early friendship grew into a deep and lasting love, and they were married on March 15, 1963.

Together, they built a life of faith, service, and devotion to family. Vern’s work with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints took them across the world, living in Brazil and Portugal, where Sharon embraced the culture and lovingly served the people. Her quiet strength and steadfast support of her husband’s responsibilities were hallmarks of her character as she took on her own service roles in church and community. Later in life, Sharon and Vern served a full-time mission in Recife, Brazil, where they supported the Church’s Perpetual Education Fund and continued their lifelong pattern of lifting others.

In addition to her church service, Sharon was a devoted member and president of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She played a vital role in relocating and restoring the historic pioneer cabin now located at Heritage Park in Kaysville—a project that reflected her deep respect for heritage, community, and perseverance.

Above all, Sharon’s life was defined by compassion, service, and faith. She touched countless lives through small acts of kindness, quiet leadership, and devoted service. Her legacy lives on in her posterity and in the many hearts she uplifted.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vernal Ray Hadley, and is survived by her five children: Layne (Marinalva), Ted (Katherine), Chet (Yvette), Julie (Charles), and James (Marnie). She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom were deeply blessed by her love and example.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kaysville Central Stake Center, 555 N. Fairfield Road (100 East), Kaysville, Utah. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, August 5, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main Street, and on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Stake Center prior to the service.
