Myrtis Marie Fallwell

Myrtis Hackney Fallwell, born on October 3, 1926, in Port Arthur, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2025. She was the daughter of Laura Darby Hackney and Adrian Hackney. A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur, TX - class of 1945, Myrtis was also a dedicated member of the former Red Hussar Drum and Bugle Corps, which showcased her spirit and commitment to her community.

After completing her education at Port Arthur Business College, she began her professional journey at Gulf Oil Refinery, where she met the love of her life, Frank Fallwell. They shared a beautiful marriage that lasted 62 years until his passing.

Myrtis retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District in 1982, after which she moved to Beaumont, Texas in 1992. There, she became actively involved in the Trinity United Methodist Church, participating in various services and activities that reflected her dedication to faith and community.

She is survived by her three sons, Patrick Fallwell and his wife, Loretta, Michael Fallwell and his wife, Maureen, and Timothy Fallwell and his wife, Julie. Myrtis was cherished by her five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Myrtis Hackney Fallwell will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and her commitment to her community. She touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed.
