Myrtle Blaylock Obituary
Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Friday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial to follow in Smyrna Cemetery in Sunset. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Michael Blaylock, Jackie Blaylock, Rex Blaylock, Joshua Blaylock, Joseph Latham, Brannan Palecki, and Scott Sledge.
Myrtle was born on April 5, 1941 to Howard Chester and Lois (Uselton) Morris in Lubbock. She was a teacher at Chico ISD for over 30 years. Myrtle was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to many that will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janette Holloway; brother, Sonny Morris; and son-in-law, Chris Tidwell.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughter, Michelle Tidwell of Sunset; 2 sons, Michael Blaylock of Sunset and Jackie Blaylock and wife Sharon of Alvarado; her ex-husband/friend, Donald Blaylock; her grandchildren, Jessica Hardin and husband Joseph Latham, Amanda Blaylock and husband Scott Sledge, Stephanie Palecki and husband Brannan, Rex Blaylock, Jr., Joshua Blaylock and wife Shanna, and Isabelle Tidwell; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
